About me

My journey to becoming a UX/UI designer wasn't always a straight line, but it's definitely been a creative adventure. Take a scroll down to see how a love of drawing, a fascination with graffiti, and a passion for digital creation all converged into a career focused on user experience and interface design.

✨ A creative spark from a young age

From a young age, I was fascinated by drawing. I spent hours meticulously copying my favorite images, aided by my trusty green box with a mirror.

🎨 Discovering the world of graffiti

At the age of 12, I discovered the captivating world of graffiti. A book about future careers introduced me to this mysterious art form, and I was instantly hooked. The combination of letters, walls, trains, and spray cans captured my imagination. This inspired me to enroll in the art academy, where I could express my creativity freely.

💻 Embracing digital creation

As I grew older, my interest in digital creation blossomed. I experimented with various software programs, such as Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and Cinema 4D, on my computer. My passion for digital art was so intense that I even crashed my hard drive three times due to rendering (sorry, Coolblue!).

🎓 From college to UX/UI design

After high school, I opted for the Media and Entertainment Business program. This broad education allowed me to explore various Adobe programs, including Premiere, Illustrator, and After Effects. To deepen my knowledge, I decided to pursue a bachelor's degree in digital media management, focusing on online marketing.
During this program, I discovered my passion for UX/UI design. An internship at online marketing agency Pivott gave me the opportunity to take my first steps in this field.

👔 From internship to UX/UI Designer at VRT MAX

After my internship, I worked on various projects to get more knowledge about ux/ui design, including a website for my futsal team. I also took a design 101 course from Designlab and built a small portfolio.

Fun fact

I have a twin brother who is a developer. Together, we created the website for our futsal team back in the day.

My hard work was rewarded with a job as a UX/UI designer at Nificent, now Craftzing. Here, I worked as a consultant and UX designer for the Telenet Entertainment tribe, focusing on the Flow app and the user experience of various Telenet teams.
After two years, I was ready for a new challenge. I joined VRT MAX (still as a consultant), where I have been dedicated to optimizing the streaming platform to this day. Some of my accomplishments include helping to integrate radio as a prominent content form and developing child-friendly zones, profiles, and security features.
